HobbyKing NEMESIS. Poly's bought an electric ARTF.

This is my first ARTF model & I really didn't have a clue what to expect when I ordered it.
I was under orders to get something decent to fly when I join Garry at Swinderby airfield.
I searched the HobbyKing UK site & looked under "Performance models" .... There were only 2 models available from the UK warehouse & the other one was a slope soarer.
This one did fit the bill though.
I was looking for something about 60 inch span that would run on a 4S lipo & also be aerobatic.
Well what a co-incidence .... look what HK had to offer.

Edit .. this link now takes you to the HK site, but not to this specific model, I do believe it's been discontinued.
I kept the model on the screen until the little box showed up in the bottom right hand corner ... "We notice you have been looking at this for some time & can now offer it to you at the discount price of ...blah blah blah" .... then I banged it into my shopping cart.
A few days later the big box arrived & this is what was inside.

It will look better when its in a 1000 bits on Swinderby airfield

As Pol has finally started this thread, I would like with his permission to dispell one thing. I have in the past ragged him rotten on live chat, about his flying. I wish to put the record straight now. Pol in my estimation is a very good pilot, and I was very supprised when he had a go with my Speed Air. He is a mode 2 flyer, and I am mode 4, which means to those who dont know that the rudder is on the right stick and the ailerons on the left. He knew this and flew this odd mode very well. When I changes the model to mode 2 the transformation was amazing . I am not an examiner, but spent many years as an instructor, and I do know a good flyer when I see one, and I think Pol is good. If he doesnt pass the A with Alan, I will eat that Speed Air.

Don't tempt me Garry .... I can always have another go at the test.... you only have one Speed Air.
I may be speaking prematurely, but the things that made me choose this model are that although it's technically a racer, it has all the attributes of an aerobatic model.
It has a fully symmetrical wind section, a Mid wing position, a fairly high sided fuz, & by the time I choose which motor to use .... a hell of a lot of GRUNT!

Its a different model to my Nemesis but looks the business.Its all very well showing us a load of parts now get on nd put it together looks like itll be a good looking plane.Hope its not wasted on you.

Seriously, this did look like a problem to me when it first arrived. I just couldn't see how to fit the batteries.
The model looked completely covered & the canopy didn't look removable.... I couldn't see any joins & was convinced that I'd have to start cutting away at it.
This did seem a bit strange because the advert said it had a massive battery hatch.
But can you see any joins?

Is it to much to aask if youve looked in the instruction book.Mine had a proper engine in it and most ARTF are geared for both nowadays.

Haha, ... I'm working up to that, I just want to create a bit of suspense here.
This is the battery that I hope to use .... now how the hell do I make it so that I can change lipo's without messing about with screws? ..... In fact, how do I get the thing in there in the first place?????

Well would you Adam & Eve it? ...... outwitted by a close fitting cover & an elastic band. .... the whole damn top just lifts up at the tail & is held with a small dowel at the front end.
Loads of room for the lipo's & seconds to change.

Thats brilliant well done Pol it needs plenty of room to get your hands on the screws that hold the wings in place also.I kept mine assembled and it fitted in the truck fine.So dont sit on your laurels get it put together no excuses now.

Wow, that looks really good, nice and 'sleek'. Tempted to sell my Cessna and buy one myself. Looking forward to seeing it built and possibly a maiden flight video?

Looks nice and light weight, over power it and get 200mph out of it

To be quite honest, I could put this thing together in an hour, but the whole purpose of it is to review the model for the forum & for every 1 minute on the model, I'm spending 60 minutes taking piccies & writing about it.
I seem to remember you & Tony saying "Beef up the undercarriage" ..... I've had a look at how it's fitted & I'm inclined to agree.
Theres a plate for the U/C to screw to, but it's simply glued into a shallow recess in the Fuz sides.... I can imagine a heavy landing pulling this plate out of its socket...... Is this what happened on yours?

This is always a fault on ARTF Pol. I always beef this are up with hard wood triangular stock to really beef it up
