TN 134" LANCASTER

just been looking in the canopy and due to the size of the model, it looks like i will be building a full compliment of crew members and all their desks, guns and seats.

lost heart today.
been pottering about with little bits.

navigator and radio operators area.
cut the two small windows for the radio operator and navigator .
done the engineers seat and the intercom box as well.
next is the bomb aimers area.

should fit in like this.

going to take a break for a couple of days and do something else.
need to order some beech for the wing boxes and servo's for the tail.
once they arrive i will get back into it.

A couple of days Tony?? and how many other models will you get done in that time. The mind boggles!!!

well the servo's i need have arrived so tomorrow i will get back into the tailplane, rudders and elevators.

hopefully i can get the wing boxes made this week and then we can get on with the wings.

we plod ever onwards.

been playing with the control rods for the twin rudder.
decided to use snakes instead of a long wire.
once side fitted and sheeted.

well i got the other snake casing fitted and the rest of the wing sheeted.
leading edge sanded to shape.
then we looked at the fins, sanded them to shape and did the leading edges.
deep breath and lets fit them shall we.
lots of measuring and trial fits before we were ready (gulp)
wooden skewers ready, 2 holes drilled in each fin and end of each wing.
jig it up and check for true.
mix up araldite and take it all apart again.
smear glue over the joining surfaces and skewers, push it all together.
square it up again, and pin down to the board.
fingers crossed it all stays level when dry.


and just to show the size of the thing, kavalier fuselage fits inside the fins.

Do you know what power set up you will be using? motors, batteries etc.

the motors will be

What wattage are these motors

650watt each.
2700 watts of power.

more sanding.
rudders sanded and hinged.

not much to report ladies.

got the tailplane mounting points made and glued in.
hopefully i can get the mounts done in the fuselage over the weekend.

well, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
rudders work, i think. 25mm travel each way.
