Dont know why your dreading it Tony i sure you have had worse things to build, i just marked mine on the sides of the fuse and fitted the boxes, it all came out ok,

G'Day Tony - interesting to catch up on your Lancaster build - and whats this about a Manchester??? My Lanc has been sitting at the back of the hanger for a couple of months while I've been tidying up a few other part finished projects. Finally got the Senior Telemaster finished and maidened - then the bloody Enya decided to go on holiday - model now runs an OS 61 4 stroke.

Alan asked about one and as it was from the manchester that the lancaster was born, i am looking into it.

i can use the plan i have for 90% of the build, just need to alter the fins and add an extra one, then reduce the wingspan and only have 2 engines.
yes if it happens it will be ic powered.

The Manchester IA, the main production version (173 built) used the Lancaster fins and tailplane so just the wing and engines are different.
Only 20 of the small tail plane 3 fin Manchester Is were built.

that will be the version i will be building.
the 3 fin one with no mid upper turret.

Right i took the bull by the horns and cut the holes in the fuselage for the wing boxes.





measured 6 times and still had to cut twice, but the rear one is in the right place and the wings fit.
i need to move the front one by 2mm to get it in square.

the wing sits square, just about.
we are 1mm out on the level and 1mm out on the square to the fuaelage.
tomorrow i will glue the rear box in and square the wing up again and leave to dry all day.
sat will see the front box go in and then it is a case of fitting all the bracing in the fuselage.
can get back onto the wings then.

Thats a very good guide to your building Tony to be that close to correct.I bet ARTFs arent that accurate the way you have to get stuff to fit.With the size of model your building thats impressive.

trying to make up the spreader plates for the wing boxes today, then i can glue it all together.

was doing ok, until it rolled off the bench.
