first wing box is now glued in and setting, when set i will add the 3mm spreader plates.
then once set i can re fit the wings and set and glue the front box in, this way everything will line up hopefully and make sliding the wings in and out smoother.
fingers crossed.

then hopefully on sunday i can join the wing tips to the center sections and start sheeting the tops.

front wing box is in and drying.

so sunday looks like joining wing ends to center section day.

just sorting out the extra wing box supports. (a bit belt and braces, but i want it strong)

traced all the fuselage formers ready for cutting another set, need to cut an extra F4 so i can make the nose removable for transport.
thats the next job after i have joined all the wings together.

Coming together well,can you explain the spreader plates and what they do please Tony

they spread any loads across the frame rather than concentrating it all in one place.
should help with hard landings.

You have seen my landings then Tony. Just a thank you for all your effort and dedication to this huge build, and also your attention to details.

Naa its ok grumpy, i have cut the nose off to make it removable for transport.

going to have 3 wing bolts and 4 wooden dowels to hold it on.
it was either the nose or the tail and i thought the nose as it is under less stress and load when flying.
drops the fuselage length down to 62 inches.

Aaaah, you missed an opportunity there Tony for an excuse to get a bigger car or a trailer

right lets get back on topic shall we.

holes cut in thee fuselage sides to take all the wiring.


bolt holes are now sorted for the nose fitting, just gluing on each captive nut.
one at a time to ensure it all lines up.
got the locating dowels to sort as well yet.
then we can smooth the join and i could even cover and paint the nose.

all the captive nuts are on now and the locating dowels are in place.
need to smooth the join next and that's another job done.

well the nose came off again and i have added some filler to help smooth the join.

then we had a look at the nose.
