Brilliant Garry must have a glint in the eye ,a rubbing of hands and an emptying of the wallet. and when it comes to the maiden flight a pinching of the buttocks.

The dreaded wing joiners, i have been putting this bit off for ages, so i had to bite the bullet and make a start.
Rear joint in place and pegged in temporarily to keep every thing lined up.
main join clamped in place for marking up, need to make 18mm spacers to go between the plates next.
then we can mount them in the fuselage and get the wing sections squared up.

front joiner all glued up and drying, need to run some screws through when dry and then sand to a good fit.
then i can cut the holes in the fuselage to fit them and square the wings up.
after that i can crack on with the wing and nacelles.

well it all went tits up today.
the araldite did not set on the front joiner and i have had to do it all again.
then while adjusting the fit of the wing sections into the box i broke a rib front section off and have had to re fix it.
been most of the day getting back to where i was yesterday.
lets hope the glue takes tonight and is set by morning and i can get the wing centers to join together.

well today so far has been another rubbish day.
woke up to perfect flying weather, but they have a football match on
managed to get some more done to the wing joiners.
until i stripped a thread on a captive nut that holds the wing into the box, spent ages trying to find another one.
finally got the wing boxes made and the wings joined together, now i need to take it all apart and fit them into the fuselage.

Made a tongue up to fit inside the front box.
then slid it all together and drilled the bolt holes.
next job is to fit the joiners in the fuselage (might have to wait till the weekend when i have more floor space)

Well as i am waiting for wheels for the mustang i decided to make the ailerons for the Lancaster.
while i had the riblets in my hot hand, i used them as templates and cut another set ready for the "Manchester" build (if it happens)
hopefully if the misses goes away this weekend i can drag the table into the middle of the room and glue the wing mounts in.
needs lots of space to do this bit.
been dreading this part of the build.
