started some planking round the front.


Having a play with the dash, not sure if it is going to come out right, but we shall see.

the idea is to cut out the dash holes inside the wire rings, sand down the front smoother and then glue dials to a piece of clear plastic that goes behind the balsa dash.
should show through the holes then, maybe.

it goes in here and i think will look ok, not the greatest, but not bad for a first try.

well after managing to get the cd of pics out of my bust pc i realized that the dash i had built was all wrong.
oh well.
i have made another one now and also made the joy sticks and the twin venturi's that go on the outside of the fuselage.
no pics cos this laptop is also playing up.

been a long day of re doing stuff, still not fully happy with them, but how far do i go.

well still waiting for my slec delivery, so i bit the bullet and went out and bought a sheet of 6mm.
cut the rear spars now and have started a wing panel.
hope to get one built enough today so i can lift it off the board and try it on the fuselage.
then make number 2 tomorrow and i can free the bench off for the Lancaster to start.

Todays work.
Made a start on the first wing panel.




We had to cut all the ends off the ribs for a) the ailerons and b) the split flaps and then sorted the two lots of sheer webbing
then we fitted the l/e wood and started fitting the riblets.


once dry i lifted it off the plan and had an offer up to the fuselage.




also sorted the rest of the dash dials.


a good productive day today.

need to look at the wing tips as i will have to cut a smaller rib to allow for the taper.
then we can put the d sheeting on, the aileron and flap blocks and................................................................. keeps on.

well the second wing panel is built (almost)
wing tips started, need to curve lots of thin bits of wood next.
right time for some pictures.

both wings fit and look almost square, need to do some trimming to get them fully on still, but they fit and don't sag.






D box sheeting still needs doing and the rear riblets and all the flap and ailerons to build, servo mounts and strut fixings and cap strips and........................................

having been told that i have made an error i need to change some thing on the build today.

the auster i am building has only one trim tab, so i need to replace one with some more curved and laminate wood.

i would quote word for word the response i got when i asked if they would fit a second trim tab to the full size to save me the bother, cos it was rude.

Yes, it would appear than only the Auster Agricola and the later Beagle Airdale had trim tabs on both sides.

hello persons of disrepute, here is todays comedy of errors.

started the wing tips, a bit of wetting and curving and gluing needed.


then i corrected my mistake. ( would have been simpler if the owner had changed the full size)


flap and aileron support going in.


starting to add lots of riblets.


and the saga goes on.
