had a frustrating day today.
so much other stuff to do that i got very little done to any models.

I have cut out former F1 and epoxy'd it in place.
cut out the 2 front sides of the fuselage and wetted and curved them ready to fit.
thats it. :(

Have a bit of a tidy up, and we have a front section made.

Tomorrow if i am allowed out, i will get the rear crutches cut and glued on, then we can spend days cutting formers and stringing the rear of the fuselage.

took a break from the se5a this afternoon and did some more to the hurricane.
cut the last 3 fuselage formers, a nice long job what with all the notches for the stringers.
then i started the first of the stringers.

i will do as many as i can with the fuselage jigged up, then by the time it has to come off the bench to have the rest done it should be rigid enough to handle and finish off.
worked ok with the last 4 i did. :P

no flying today, see beeen flying thread.

so i sat in the shed and attacked the stringers.

long slow job, but are finally done.

had to curve some balsa for the tailplane fairing first though.

next job is to cut the ribs for the tailplane and fin, then we can get them built and fitted.

That looks a rather strange wing section with its maximum thickness very far back like the laminar flow section used on the P51.
It seems strange it does not use the scale section Clark YH. Easy to build with a true flat bottom area like the Clark Y but with a slight swept up trailing edge.
