A bit testing with the new ELGOO printer.
Two nose cones that I will need for repairs to the Skyray and the Gnat! 
 
Both printed in ColorFab LW-PLA have an inner and outer wall 5mm apart with a gyroid infill. Both use the same CURA settings with print speed set to 80mm/sec.
As is common with ColorFab LW-PLA there is quite a bit of stringing on the inside volume, most of which can be removed quite easily, but the outside surface is perfect.
For comparison using print settings that work for the old Anet A8 the smaller cone would take nearly 3 hours but the ELGOO did it in just 46 minutes.
For me the impressive bit is that even at the much higher speed the finished result with the ELGOO is just as good if not better!

Just to see what happens I printed out a "Benchy" test print at 4 times size. It actually is as big as the bed dimensions would allow even across the diagonal!
 
Still just a single wall with a 18% "line" infill it took 4 hours 44 minutes but it is still amazing light and stiff!
However in some large flat surfaces the skin has started to show "porosity" likely due to the single wall and high print speed.
 
What I did not know is that the Benchy boat was not designed as a toy but to specifically test the print capabilities of a 3D printer!   

I haven't watched the video yet but I remember Veron as a poor relation quality wise of Keil kraft.

Surely no different to IC powered free flight. Timer and dethermaliser?
It would be useful if a programmable flight controller was used giving a height limitation and "return to home" but then of course drones can do that already it just they don't thermal well!

I watched the video, it seems the main cause of Veron's demise was "Progress", likewise KeilKraft.
I didn't think the commentary was bad, there is plenty far worse.

Yes I meant 5 channel.
The plan gives the dihedral as 5"" under one wing tip, I assume with the other one lying flat, that works out as 5.5deg on each wing. I reduced the Dragonfly to 2 deg.
It says 2 deg right-thrust which seems alot to me but doesn't mention down-thrust.
The CG position has quite a wide range, is this related to no down-thrust?

What is a tubulator?

The wing depth is 12.6% of the chord, a Clark Y is 11.5%. What difference would this make on a model?
