Eric
It has happened to me several times. I believe sessions "time out" after 20? minutes of no activity so when you try to "post" what you have created your session has closed so you get that message.
Normally if you just try and post again it works but if you are unlucky what you had in your session is lost!

"A round the world flight scheduled for 2014"
That's 12 years ago! Did I miss something?
Or did they perhaps discover that for practical long distance electric powered flight humans are just too heavy!

It does seem to have disappeared, doesn't it! Perhaps they solved the duration, but the lack of speed, and the structural fragility - were obstacles they couldn't pass.

As it was almost dry, and nearly sunny - this afternoon, I went to dispose of some bramble runners that are becoming a nuisance. Got the secateurs, then went for my thorn-proof gardening gloves - - -
Slight problem - I found most of them, but it appears that a mouse has eaten the cotton backs off, to make a nest somewhere - they've both got big furry holes in them!
So - instead of fingerless gloves, I've got gloveless fingers!

For those on aero modellers who are pilots at full scale I saw this article about flight 'computers' starting from the 1930s.  Specialised slide rules for often required computations.

The Macready "Speed to fly" ring fitted round a glider variometer was a form of circular slide rule calibrated for the characteristics of the particular glider.

The principle was to set the ring for the rate of climb achieved in a thermal as it then gave you the best speed to fly to cover the distance to find the next one.
In the UK it always seemed a bit optimistic as the chances of actually finding the next thermal before "the ground got in the way" were pretty slim for much of the year!

Yes, Paul McCreedy contributed so much to full size aviation.

Do it now, you may never get another chance

Did that give you the minimum sink or best penetration speed?

it always gave you the best speed to fly given your current  sink or climb rate.

I think your post was remarkably calm given the trouble you went to to get back to the UK during a war. I almost always get text messages in parallel with the snail-mail notices.

Super pissed off just doesn't begin to describe my reaction! You moved heaven and earth to get there, costing the thick end of a grand to get back! And I could have had you here for another month which would have been much better.
Thanks again for all the planes and stuff you left behind, the Funfly is awesome, yesterday I discovered she can do unlimited vertical!
