if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

The firefly grave yard picture in the book is quite sad really, did they scrap all those RR engines ?

The wing span was not huge, probably 12 ft ISH or a bit more from memory
Saw 100 or so all boxed up brand new in a hanger there during my ATC days.
We had an Anson as a "play pen "...
Yes, my patience is really being tested with this phone. I have warned it about Lenny.
A printer pissed me if once too often. It was dragged to the quarry by its lead and shot many many times.
The Epson printer that went berserk ever 52 days regular as clock work was disecred in the shed, the roller shafts making great drifts/punches. Been looking for a stepper motor the same as the one in the Epson, to drive a hot wire cutter for foam wings.
Expo drills and tools do a metre role of nichrome wire, but gunna try mig wire 0.6mm and car battery charger first, as I have quite a few miles if that might wire.
Lenny the lump hammer ❤️

Eric wrote: The target planes we used were smaller than those - about 12 foot wingspan, if memory serves - just like big models.
The ones we used were about that span and launched from a ramp, they were piloted by a Royal Artillery gunner from one of the Air Defence Batterys' so we could practice air defence from vehicle mounted Jimpys and slouch poles.
