Just googled metior and nothing about target tugs came up, it keeps suggesting the Gloster Meteor. Is that what you mean or am I out of step again?

It'll be BB's spelling. Gloster Meteor it probably was!

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

My doggy smelling better today.

The firefly grave yard picture in the book is quite sad really, did they scrap all those RR engines ?

Anyone know how to turn off the pita predictive text on an Alcatel phone please ?

The target planes we used were smaller than those - about 12 foot wingspan, if memory serves - just like big models.

Llanbedr had a jindy as a gate gaurdian so people could see it up close.

The wing span was not huge, probably 12 ft ISH or a bit more from memory

Saw 100 or so all boxed up brand new in a hanger there during my ATC days.

We had an Anson as a "play pen "...

Yes, my patience is really being tested with this phone. I have warned it about Lenny.

A printer pissed me if once too often. It was dragged to the quarry by its lead and shot many many times.

The Epson printer that went berserk ever 52 days regular as clock work was disecred in the shed, the roller shafts making great drifts/punches. Been looking for a stepper motor the same as the one in the Epson, to drive a hot wire cutter for foam wings.

Expo drills and tools do a metre role of nichrome wire, but gunna try mig wire 0.6mm and car battery charger first, as I have quite a few miles if that might wire.

Lenny the lump hammer ❤️

The ones we used were about that span and launched from a ramp, they were piloted by a Royal Artillery gunner from one of the Air Defence Batterys' so we could practice air defence from vehicle mounted Jimpys and slouch poles.

My advice is leave the predictive text on and take notice of it Rich, it looks like you're ignoring it when it could well be suggesting the word you're looking to spell. I'm loathe to pick people up on mispelled words because everybody makes mistakes but it makes reading things difficult when you need to decipher what you think they mean and having to google words you've never seen before. There are so many spelling aids now with the advent of IT that spelling and grammar is easier than ever before.
Please don't take umdrage mate, my intention is not to insult or belittle. It's just a suggestion to help you.

Nichrome wire - try your local hardware shop that has some of those electric bar fire elements in stock (not the halogen lamps!) = same stuff.

Sorry for hijacking your build thread, some firefly pics

Book says some of the radio control fireflies where mk5's.

Last one was a ferry aircraft, scrapped by being deposited in cardigan bay.

Interestingly and Irish cab firm shot down a few.
