It is really coming alive now what with the paint and aircrew on board!
Did you paint free hand all the canopy and turret lines?as this is a job I am really not looking forward to on my B-17 :unsure:

well done some painting today, my eyes are squiffy now.
needs a second coat and then we can do the panel lines.

cos i have a photo taken in 1945 of a lancaster done in exactly the same way i am copying.

taken by Charles Brown in 1945 of a mk1 Lancaster built at Castle Bromwich and serving with 149 and 44 squadrons.

I think you will find those lines are at the fuselage construction joints.
One can only assume that the early Lanc in your picture had been dis-assembled, the camouflage paint locally stripped back at each joint and had not been made good by the time of the picture.
I have not found any other Lanc pictures with those lines but it clearly existed so why not?.

well i have been doing the second coat on the join lines and the outer ring on the roundel.
eyes are crossed now. :blink:

got to wait for the paint to dry and we can do the other side.
then i am stuck until i can get outside to sand the wings down.
