Hi John I know thank you, but I wanted to use these bloody hinges I have,
Anyroods I pressed on ripped the hatch off

And binned it then started to make and fit a new one using the hinges I had because I had worked out how to do it

Only when I had done it IT WOULD NOT OPEN
Sooooo version 3!!!! using the new hatch and with a bit of hacking and cursing, could not get the other apart so finished up with damage, but it will repair, and I cannot afford to waste any more of this ply as I only have enough for the other hatch and will not buy more @ 56 quid a 1200 + 600 sheet +carriage
Using a tube I have it working


And I managed to slice open 3 finger and a thumb all in one go
Just not safe to be out of bed at the moment

Just another probably useless question, having been following this and most of the other builds on here for quite a while.
I was wondering if some of the obviously very talented metal workers, turners, (lathes) machinests, " I know"spelt wrong, could get together in a thread, and try and come up with something hand made, ie like for instance this hinge thingy that OT, was describing to BB,.
this is just an example, but what a benifit it would be to very serious builders, getting together to solve what appears to be ( just a hinge) that the design could be improved to suit not only BB,s problem, but hinge problems that builders must be having everywhere.
You all know I'm a novice on here re modeling, but piano hinges, and other diy home type hinges, are not really designed for models.
I'm ready for the "flack" lol,

Boys, the point I was trying to make, was not specific to BB,s hinge, it was more would it be possible for the engineering minded members to get together in a thread, to design a new type of hinge, or any other metal part that may be required by anyone on here, nothing specific.
I was using the hinge as an example, and OT,s description posted earlier, as an example,

Hi Eric the £56 was for the sheet of ply only, then on top of that is the P&P charge as it comes from the UK there is no charge this end, but I have to travel 20 mile each way to pick it up from the post office, and the last order I placed for wood which came to £134 the carriage charge was about the same amount, so a cancelled order
I brought that order when I was in the UK last September back with me on the plane, but it cost nearly as much, the only difference was my son paid for it good boy
Thing was it was delivered F.O.C to me in the Wirral from slec

Started the repairs this morning where I destroyed it getting it apart

And here is the finished hatch all working, with todays blood on it, they say they fly ok if they have blood on them, this should be a cracker with all of it I have shed on this one I bushed the brass tube where it hinges and I fitted two powerful magnets to keep it close,, ill work something out to open it later

Tonight I started on the other one hopefully this one will go a bit quicker

At the third attempt I did the fairing between the fuselage and engine housing

Cut the plugs off the housing and glassed them

Been using it tonight to glue the magnets in, I don't use the nozzles unless it in a difficult place to get at, squeeze it onto a piece of cornflake packet an mix it, otherwise what is in the nozzle is wasted

Got the other hatch done in a couple of hours this morning

Been trying to work out the wing section quite an unusual shape

As im building it by looking at the 1/48th plastic model I have, and I have lost a whole load of parts
god knows where they are, things could get difficult
