if you draw a pencil line in the Depron the knife blade will follow it quite well. it has to be sharp though.

well all i have done today i to add all the panel lines in pencil and paint on the last of the markings.
one coat of sealer has been added as well.

hope to get the other two coats done tomorrow and then it is just a case of the wing fixings and aileron control rods.

then i can bung it in the shed and get on with something else.

That was exactly my first thought.
When I finish a scratch build I just can't wait to see if it flies like I think it should.

Just tried that technique in 6mm Depron with a new scalpel blade in the Swann Morton - works beautifully - thanks. Don't know if I'll ever get a chance to use the technique as I m currently without a flying field for anything decent, but I can always hope!

I have the same problem at the moment, i have no club so nowhere to fly.

though i hope to be in a new club early next year.

so i keep building an will have about a dozen models to maiden when i finally have a place to fly.

Just got this month's RCMW - love your Sea Hawk - always one of my favourite looking aeroplanes But not quite top of the class - that's the Spit, followed by the Hunter)

ordered 8x5 3blade props for the varsity today.
just need to find my "R" pins now, so i can drill the wing tubes and fit the wings.
job finished.

I said "R" pins Eric, cos it is "R" pins that i need to hold the wings on with.

I've never hear of 'R' pins - 'T' pins, yes, straight pins, yes, dressmakers' pins, yes, nice set of pins, yse - but 'R' pins?

Yes I have heard and used R pins. Visualise a shaft with a hole near the end and you need to put something say a wheel on the shaft. Put the wheel on and then the straight part of the R goes through the hole and is pressed down so it goes over the centre of the R so it locks, but can easily removed. A great bit of kit
