done some paint slopping about today.

should have it on its wheels tomorrow evening.

still have to work out the steering servo yet.

Well i have made the u/c legs and fitted them to the retracts.
not quite right still.
i think they need shortening a touch ( still it is better than having to lengthen them)

plus the main wheels are too small still, i will have to buy some slightly larger ones soon.

and the undersides of the nacelles are not right yet, so more mods needed there.

two steps forward and 1.5 back at the moment.

Tony !!! Words nearly fail me. That is SUPERB mate. It will look super in the air if the C of G is correct.
Not sure if this has been mentioned , but will both motors be turning the same way, or is there a pusher prop on the R/H motor (looking from the rear) and the motor reversed ?

Wouldnt mind being the pilot on this one

both props will be turning the same way, as she has a big enough rudder to compensate for the torque.

all the flaps and ailerons are now fitted.

so al i have left to do is:-
fit the steering servo
sheet part of the fuselage
connect all the servos to the surfaces
slop a bit of paint about
make the wing fixings.
set the c of g
done.
weighed it today.
with 5000mah 4s lipo fitted it comes in at just under 6lbs.
so 800 watts from the two motors should power it well.

With due respect Tony, I would suggest maybe as its electric doing as I suggested would help with the maiden flight.
I had the same issue with the Lanc, with all 4 motors turning the same way, taxi trials were to say interesting, with 2 motors reversed perfect. However, the Lanc hasnt flown yet, so I had better shut up :woohoo: :woohoo:

rudder and elevators are now all connected up and working.

had a hell of a job setting up the noose wheel steering, took most of the day to work out how to do it.
still it works now and does not interfere with the retract action.
so i have been able to finish the fuselage sheeting round the nose area and get that bit ready for covering an paint.

i have managed to sort out the c of g as well, the battery has to go right back in its tray and i will have to cut a foam block to stop it sliding forward in flight.
that another job though.

we plod on slowly.

well after having a weeks holiday in sunny Majorca ( not the touristy end, but up in the mountains)

i have got some more done to this wee beasty.
all the painting is finished ( well 98% anyway), the nacelles sorted and the wing fences made.
need final fit out now and it is finished.

Looks great, Tony. I've only ever used Depron for quick build 'shockie' types around 30-36" and to see something like this is a real eye opener.
One thing - like anyone else I can cut straight lines in Depron with scalpel and straight edge, but how do you cut such beautifully clean currves in so frangible a material?

a very sharp knife and free hand.
then lots of sanding to smooth it out.
