Sorry, Tony, with R being next to T on the majority of keyboards, I assumed a typo!
Now Mike has called it a split pin, I can see what you mean - I suppose they do look vaguely like a very elongated R, side on! [badass]

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Mike

Not really split pins Mike , as with split pins the usual way was to bend the legs outward, so taking them out was a bit of a pain, these just pull out, and then reused over and over again .

Fair enough - must have been wrongly naming them, not that I used any in decades. never mind years

I could be wrong but I think they were invented by Anthony Fokker, we always called them Fokker pins. Seems the word is no longer acceptable in this PC world!

Do it now, you may never get another chance

Found my "R" pins/clips in the shed, right under my nose on the bloody bench. :silly:

wings now lock in place. will try it to see if i need two pins per wing or if one will be enough.

I think i need some bigger props still, but they are on order.

so she is finished.

It's a good job they weren't invented by a person called Soles!

Apart from a few minor things to do.
the Vickers Varsity is FINISHED. :cheer: :cheer:

Ran up the motors today out on the patio.
she toddles round happily on half throttle and and full chat i have a problem holding her back.
so fingers crossed she will fly fine. :)

Looks absolutely first rate.
I was interested to read your comments about grey Debron - where do you get it? Looking at E-bay it seems to either have to come from Australia or has to be bought in such quantities as to cost a small fortune

That is the issue.
if you are not going to build lots of models, you can buy it in small amounts but it costs more.
i buy a box at a time, thats 20 sheets. but i tend to use loads over the course of a year.
