these are for Andy's model.
then i did some gluing on the prototype build.
decided to cut alot of the cores away as it is just redundant material, also it has made assembly easier as it gives me exactlocations for the formers.
i need to run a 6mm Depron stringer down the full length when all the formers are done, then i can start sorting out the wing mounts.
we plod on

I know Depron is relatively cheap but is there a use for all those substantial cut outs?

i have sheeted the fin and half the rudder.
glued the spars to the tailplane and added the trailing edge/hinge points.
not much but it is a step forwards.
wondering about the wing mounting system at the moment.
do i make seperate wing panels and use tubes or do i make a one piece wing and bolt it on, or do i have a fixed center section and have removable outers. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

At 76" a one piece wing is just about manageable. It gives the best strength for its weight and assembly at the field is simple but it is likely to require several electrical connections - both power and servos.
There is a lot to be said for a fixed centre section carrying the motors with removable outer panels as virtually all the electrical connections can stay in place, only the aileron servos need to be connected.
My 72" span Hamilcar started out with a fixed centre section and removable wing panels outboard of the engines. Servo connections (2 ailerons, 2 flaps) were very limited for space and had to made as the wing was slid into space. However the biggest drawback was that even the slightest crash tended to create difficult to repair damage the wing joints.
It was later converted to a one piece wing simply bolted onto the fuselage. The electrical connections, power, elevator and rudder (the Rx is in the wing) proved to be easier as the wing to fuselage joint provides much more room.
On my 61" span (but 76" long!) Bombardier with its high aspect ratio wing I also used a one piece 'bolted on' wing largely for structural reasons but by placing a battery in each engine nacelle only elevator and rudder servo connections have to made at the field.
This layout also has the advantage that much of its weight is spread out along the wing which reduces the wing root bending forces in flight. The wing to fuselage joint actually carries very little load.
The choice of wing mounting does rather depend on the positioning and complexity of the "electrics".

Ha ha...none of those are practical and most are uneconomical. I'd still go for a smaller model or one that broke down a bit smaller.
