Having had a few flights now the annoying stalling engine has now gone away but the engine still stutters as I increase throttle but it now keeps going.But it still occasionally deadsticks in flight at mid range.Yesterday I had 8 flights and one deadstick.It seems better if I do a cicuit flat out anf then itll be fin at any throttle setting.The model takes off easily and doesnt need ful throttle to take off very quickly and the model has really grown on me.Very acrobatic and can be very fast with the SC 52 2 stroke,an engine I favour.

Yes I was thinking the same thing.

Ive recently replaced my Travel Air as it crashed when I lost signal.I suspect the battery disconnected but as I never found the battery after it crashed cannot be 100%.but I could hear the engine still revving and not responding hence my suspicion.Anyway,whist at the nationals I purchased a spare,little used Travel Air that had been used as electric.Ive been getting it ready to fly and was surprised at how poorly the guy had put it together.I had ti re glue the horizintal andvertical stabilisers as he hadnt removed the covering and they became detached.I also found when putting the servis in he had fitted them the wrong way round so the push rids had to be replaced.I also found the aileron horns were loose and not glued into place as recommended ,so you lost lots of movement when operated..So Ive been busy putting the right.Certainly would not want to be around when he was flying one of his models.He probably complained the model didnt fly properly hence why he sold it with such little use,He said he changed his models very regularly but now I have my doubts.

IT'S the FUTABA radio loosing signal

you blokes seem to have a lot of trouble with signal loss - I use Hitec and Futaba and have NEVER had a signal loss on either - that of course is not counting the old days when we used 27 Meg. WE use 36 Meg down here as well as 2.4Ghtz. I understand you use 35 Meg and perhaps some one who knows more about radio than I do can tell me if that is a factor???

I would expect that the bands are not as crowded down here as well - but - just in case some smart **** want's to make a suggestion - NO - we do NOT use smoke signals.

I fly next door to a big air base with very high radio masts not half a mile away,

Never yet had signal loss, even back in the days when we were using 27MHz AM & fighting with the illegal CB'ers using "Alpha channels"
I've got an old 35MHz Digifleet set, 2 JR 35MHz sets & a new 2.4 Spekky 6i that Garry & Eric bought me because they love the bones of my arse ..... not a single problem with any of them.

Well done BB I thought Garry would be the first to suggest that.I have no reply in defense because O was unable to check as the receiver had had diconnected plugs most likely to impact.But I havent had any problems before or since.When I checked at home with another battery everything worked fine.I will do a range check before using the receiver again.

Thats how it should be although noone at our club does.I cant walk that far to do it.If I did I would be to knackered to fly.Maybe I should leave the model and drive but we are not allowed mobile phones as the old duffers say they interfere with the models.i have pointed out that signals are probably whizzing passed all the time but it doesnt work..The mobil would be for someone to tell me if my model was working 1!!
