Maybe we should range check whilst using a mobile? .... it puts the receiver to a more rigorous test. If you've still got the range, with a mobile right next to the Rx, .... then I don't think you have any worries. The Beard wrote: Thats how it should be although noone at our club does.I cant walk that far to do it.If I did I would be to knackered to fly.Maybe I should leave the model and drive but we are not allowed mobile phones as the old duffers say they interfere with the models.i have pointed out that signals are probably whizzing passed all the time but it doesnt work..The mobil would be for someone to tell me if my model was working 1!!

Was this a proven and ongoing problem we would be hearing of it happeniong every day. I know of a lot of very well known pilot/modelers who regularly have a live mobile phone while flying.
Have a nice Day, unless I don't like you.

Same thing applies at Langar Stephen, in fact it is now in the rule book, but it is not because the mobile can interfere with the TX signal, that has been proved to be nonesense. Their reason is that as the pilots fly in the "Pilots Box" if a mobile rings it could distract other flyers. The rule states that you must leave it in the car. No restrictions at all at Swinderby.

The Beard wrote: Well done BB I thought Garry would be the first to suggest that.I have no reply in defense because O was unable to check as the receiver had had diconnected plugs most likely to impact. But I havent had any problems before or since. When I checked at home with another battery everything worked fine.I will do a range check before using the receiver again.
It wasnt mentioned Stephan as I am not a back stabber, you must have felt bad enough yourself.
I must add that I have used Specky for over 6 yrs and the radio has never faulted.
