> When they discovered they lived in the same city only a
few miles apart Ed was ecstatic. He immediately started asking her out when
they got home.
> Within a couple of weeks, Ed had taken Carolyn to dance
clubs, restaurants, concerts, movies, and museums. Ed became convinced that
Carolyn was indeed his soul mate and true love. Every date seemed better than
the last.
> On the one-month anniversary of their first dinner on
the cruise ship, Ed took Carolyn to a fine restaurant. While having cocktails
and waiting for their salad, Ed said, "I guess you can tell I'm very much in
love with you. I'd like a little serious talk before our relationship continues
to the next stage. So, before I get a box out of my jacket and ask you a life
changing question, it's only fair to warn you, I'm a total golf nut. I play
golf, I read about golf, I watch golf on TV. In short, I eat, sleep, and
breathe golf. If that's going to be a problem for us, you'd better say so
now!"
> Carolyn took a deep breath and responded, "Ed, that
certainly won't be a problem. I love you as you are and I love golf too; but,
since we're being totally honest with each other, you need to know that for the
last five years I've been a hooker."
>
> Ed said, "I bet it's because you're not keeping your
wrists straight when you hit the ball."

> "This is the tower. I have received your message and I will talk you
through it. I've had a lot of experience with this kind of problem. Now, just
relax. Everything will be fine! Now give me your height and position."
>

Missing life in the navy?
Here‘s how to recapture the atmosphere of the old days and simulate living on-board ship. Build a wobbly shelf on the top of your wardrobe and sleep on it inside a smelly sleeping bag. Hang a too small curtain along the ceiling close to it. Wash your underwear every night in a bucket then hang it over the water pipes to dry. Four hours after you go to bed, have your wife whip open the curtains, shine a torch in your eyes, and say “sorry mate, wrong pit”.
Every time there is a thunderstorm, sit in a wobbly rocking chair, and rock as hard as you can until you are sick. Don’t watch TV except for films in the middle of the night. For added realism, have your family vote for which film they want to see; then select a different one. Leave a lawnmower and a couple of noisy fans running in your living room twenty-four hours a day to re-create the proper noise levels. Once a week blow compressed air up through your chimney. Ensure that the wind carries the soot over your neighbour’s house. When he complains, laugh at him. Buy a rubbish compactor but only use it once a week; store up your rubbish in the heads.
Wake up every night at midnight and make a sandwich out of anything you can find, preferably using stale bread; optional, cold soup or canned ravioli, eaten out of the tin. Devise your family menus a week in advance without looking in the fridge or larder
Set your alarm to go off at random times throughout the night. When it goes off, leap out of bed, get dressed as fast as you can and then run into the garden and break out the garden hose. Once a month, take every major household appliance completely apart then re-assemble. Use four spoons of coffee per cup, and allow it to sit for three hours before drinking.
Invite about eighty-five people who you don’t really like to come to stay for a couple of months, in the same room. Install a small fluorescent light under your coffee table and then lie under it to read books. Raise the thresholds and lower the tops of all your doors in the house. Now you will always hit your head or skin you shins when passing through. Put lock wire on the wheel nuts of your car. Whilst baking cakes, prop up one side of the cake tin while it is baking. When it has cooled, spread icing really thickly on one side to level it out again.
Every so often throw your cat in the swimming pool or bath, and shout; “man overboard”, then run into the kitchen and sweep all the dishes onto the floor while yelling at your wife for not having secured for sea properly. Put on the headphones from your stereo, do not plug them in, go and stand in front of your dishwasher and say to nobody in particular, “dishwasher manned and ready, sir”. Stand there for three or four hours. Say, once again to nobody in particular, “dishwasher secured”. Remove the headphones, roll up the cord and put them away.
Nickname your favourite shoes “steamies” and get you children to hide them around the house on a random basis.
Finally, get a neighbour you can't stand to barge into your house at random intervals, collect up anything lying around, toss it carelessly into a bag, and take it home with him. Then you have to pay him per item to get it back!

Two 90 year old men, Dai and Emrys, have been friends all of their lives.
When it's clear that Emrys is dying, Dai visits him every day.
One day Dai says, 'Emrys, we both loved rugby all our lives, and we played rugby on
Saturdays together for so many years. Please do me one favour, when you get
to Heaven, somehow you must let me know if there's rugby there.'
Emrys looks up at Dai from his death bed,' Dai, you've been my best friend
for many years. If it's at all possible, I'll do this favour for you.
Shortly after that, Emrys passes on. At midnight a couple of nights later,
Dai is awakened from a sound sleep by a blinding flash of white light and a
voice calling out to him, 'Dai--Dai.'
'Who is it? Asks Dai sitting up suddenly. 'Who is it?'
'Dai--it's me, Emrys.'
'You're not Emrys. Emrys just died.'
'I'm telling you, it's me, Emrys,' insists the voice.'
'Emrys! Where are you?'
'In heaven', replies Emrys. 'I have some really good news and a little bad news.'
'Tell me the good news first,' says Dai.
The good news,' Emrys says,' is that there's rugby in heaven. Better yet, all of our old friends who died before us are here, too. Better than that, we're all young again.
Better still, it's always spring time and it never rains or snows. And best of all, we can play rugby all we want, and we never get tired.'
'That's fantastic,' says Dai. 'It's beyond my wildest dreams! So what's the bad news?'

The woman said, "Dogs are not eligible to draw benefit"..
I explained to her that my Dog is black, unemployed, idle, can't speak
English and has no clue who his dad is.
She looked in her policy book to see what it takes to qualify.

It was just After Eight.
They got off at Quality Street.
He asked her name. 'Polo, I'm the one with the hole' she said with a Wispa.
'I'm Marathon, the one with the nuts' he replied.
He touched her Cream Eggs, which was a Kinder Surprise for her.
Then he slipped his hand into her Snickers, which made her Ripple.
He fondled her Jelly Babies and she rubbed his Tic Tacs.
Soon they were Heart Throbs.
It was a Fab moment as she screamed in Turkish Delight.
But, 3 days later, his Sherbet Dip Dab started to itch.
Turns out Miss Rowntree had been with Bertie Bassett and he had Allsorts!

Guilt and Inhibition
Have you ever finished cleaning out the dead Hedgehog from the outside drain or something equally unpleasant?
Having spent a couple of hours up to your armpits in unspeakable filth and then half an hour cleaning it off, you find yourself with half an hour before dinner.
"Ah Ha!", you think - just time for a quick bit of work on that kit and so you get the box and sit down to spend a quiet time enjoying yourself after all that gunge.
You open the lid take out the instructions pick up the first piece and a voice (usually a partner) behind you says, "You could be decorating the bathroom but there you are playing with that thing".
You couldn't really be decorating the bathroom there isn't enough time and if you had started, the comment would have been, "what have you started that for there's only half an hour before dinner?"
Of course you feel guilty instantly perhaps you should be doing the bathroom? Perhaps you should be painting the shed? Perhaps you should be painting the chapel ceiling or polishing the cat? What ever you should be doing it most certainly is nothing to do with model aeroplanes, and the seeds of guilt are sown.
This will happen if, having taken a days leave, you respond incorrectly to the question, "What are you doing today?" by saying, "Well I want to spend a couple of hours putting the ribs in on the wings".
The normal repost to your answer will be the guilt inspiring "All you ever do is play with your planes".
This is patently not true. Like most of us you probably try hard to squeeze some modeling into any reasonable gap left between your responsibilities to home and family. Generally it is not possible to do anything else in the spaces you have left other than to fit a couple of parts together on a kit before you clear away to do something else much less start and finish a major D.I.Y. Job.
Once created the aura of guilt is exploited by others as they know you are likely to respond in the way they want because you feel bad.
Let's try the spare half hour before dinner again you know the sort of thing. "Dad take us to the park to play football". Now it's a ten minute drive to the park each way and a three minute walk from the car park to the football pitch so you refuse. The answer comes back dripping with guilt, "You never take us anywhere Mum says you're always playing with your planes".
Are you always playing planes? Didn't you take them to that theme park on Saturday? Perhaps helping
with homework doesn't count? Or the game you were playing with them before you started cleaning the dead Hedgehog out of the drain.
Worse still the exploitation of guilt can be moved outside the family group. Take Mrs. Bloggs. She's just had a new patio fitted and the comment when she shows you it goes like this. "Oow! How nice I wanted something like that but he's always on with that aeroplane of his". The fact that Mrs. Bloggs' contractor charged her a couple of grand to do the job doesn't enter the equation the reason you don't have one is because of your planes. Pay cheque not big enough? Wait for " If you spent as much time
on your job as you do on those planes...".
What leads from all this guilt? The answer is inhibition. "Ah - but that's a mental disorder', you say. "I can't have that."
Oh yes you can! Your mind is deeply effected by guilt which is a powerful emotion. Unless you are completely unfeeling it will only take a few comments before you start to feel uncomfortable about touching your Hobby when your family are around. Soon you will not touch it at all and if you do you will feel guilty even though no one has said a word to you. This is inhibition, the enjoyment you once gained from the use of your skill in a creative way has been destroyed and any attempt to indulge in your hobby sets up a violent turmoil in your mind in which guilt is uppermost. No one in your family will have set out to inhibit you but they will have succeeded wonderfully This condition will eat away at you
and soon you will start to blame people for making you unhappy. Then things will go really pear-shaped. Accusation will lead to recrimination and then to all out war. Most times it will not go that far, generally you will blame your hobby for causing the problem and stop doing it.
So what happens now when you finish the Hedgehog cleaning? You note there is only half an hour before dinner. "Ah!", you think, “just time to have a look at that kit I bought. Er - no, better not !” enters your mind along with a guilty feeling. Instead, you crash into an arm chair in the front of the television.
“Oh poor dear you must be tired out after cleaning that drain”.
Creativity ? Not allowed on this planet!
